Lea the Doula - Knowledge-Based Birth
I support expecting parents throughout pregnancy, birth, and the early postpartum period. I trust birth, and I trust you. I sit beside you, not above you. You are not 'patient in room 5'; I see you. I ask how you feel, not what your weight is. I walk with you. Shalom, I’m Lea—a doula, childbirth educator, prenatal bodyworker, and B.O.T.-certified practitioner based in Jerusalem. I accompany expecting parents through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with evidence-based guidance and calm, compassionate support in Hebrew, English, and German. I help expecting parents navigate the Israeli maternity system with confidence. Drawing from my academic background, I believe in the power of knowledge and founded "Knowledge-Based Birth", because knowledge is power. I believe, that women who grow, birth, and nurture babies deserve nourishing, compassionate, and professional support along the way, to feel safe, seen, and understood. That’s why I integrate Hypnobirthing, evidence-based information, trauma-informed preparation, active birth tools, prenatal bodywork, and the postpartum ritual "Closing of the Bones"—a traditional practice supporting healing and integration after birth—into my work. You deserve to be fully seen, supported, and informed.
When I was pregnant for the first time, I felt both wonder and uncertainty. The Israeli maternity system was unfamiliar, and the information I found often left me feeling unprepared. Like many, I thought of birth as something to endure. But as I began learning—about physiology, emotional support, and the power of preparation—my understanding changed. I came to see birth as a transformative experience that can be met with trust and intention. That shift led me to birth work—not to offer quick answers, but to walk alongside others with knowledge, presence, and compassion. Today, I offer care that honors your story and supports your choices, so you can approach birth feeling steady, seen, and well-supported.
When you give birth, you don’t just birth a baby—you birth yourself as a mother, and you birth a family. Birth is a profound rite of passage, a transition that deserves recognition and support. I believe every woman has the right to choose and be supported on her own birthing path—whether at home or in a hospital, with or without pain relief, spontaneously or with an induction, through the belly or birth canal, in water, on a bed, standing, or kneeling. There is no single right way to give birth. What truly matters is comprehensive preparation and individualized support. Knowledge empowers parents to make informed choices, emotional preparation builds inner resilience, and practical techniques help create a grounded, confident approach to birth as a transformative, life-changing event.
