I believe in compassionate, nonjudgmental support for women and couples. I teach a Doula Training which embodies this principle.
I have been a doula for almost 30 years, and have been teaching a very unique Doula Training in English for the past 8 years. I believe in compassionate, nonjudgmental support for women and couples. I see birth as a Rite of Passage and the doula as a mentor. My course is very body oriented as well as emotionally in depth- it is first of all a journey for you, the student doula, to go deeper within and explore and grow. As you are mentored throughout the year, you yourself become the mentor.
My journey began from being a young mother in a new home with little support. On the one hand, giving birth was an incredible experience and on the other, motherhood was overwhelming. I eventually became a doula ,prenatal yoga teacher and bodyworker - everything about supporting women this beautiful and difficult time in life. I opened up a prenatal women’s center in Jerusalem. Eight years ago I started teaching doula training.
I have no agenda for how you should give birth. I believe you deserve support in connecting within and finding your unique path to motherhood. I also see birth/ motherhood as a jumping board for personal growth and self empowerment. Sometimes it takes compassionate support to see that for yourself…
